Taiwan Pulp Molding Increases Yield from 70% to 95% After Implementing Rockwell Automation

Taiwan Pulp Molding needed to attain CE and North American safety standards and boost productivity to enter European and American markets. Their pilot run period lasted over six months with Japanese-brand components, and machine yield was only 70%, making international expansion difficult.

TPM partnered with Rockwell Automation to deploy Guardmaster 440C-CR30 safety relays, Kinetix 5500 servo drives, CompactLogix 5370 controllers, PanelView Plus 7 terminals, and Studio 5000 software on an EtherNet/IP network. Safety certifications for CE ISO13849-1 PLe and ANSI/RIA R15.06 were achieved.

Machine yield increased from 70% to 95%. Productivity improved by approximately 30% and commission (pilot run) time was reduced by approximately 60%. The solution opened European and North American markets and enabled convenient worldwide component replacement to support customer growth.
