Quimikao

Quimikao, a Kao subsidiary in Mexico producing cationic surfactant derivatives, needed to construct a greenfield facility to meet growing demand for nitrile. They needed to replicate a Japanese chemical plant design while using a North American control system supplier to reduce language and time-zone barriers.

Rockwell Automation deployed a PlantPAx Process Automation System with virtualized infrastructure on the greenfield facility, providing redundant control and visibility into all aspects of processing with North American support.

The facility achieved increased redundant control and visibility into all processing aspects. Production efficiency increased and product quality and consistency improved, meeting Quimikao's goals for the North and South American, Asian, and Australian markets.
