The Challenge
A technical college needed to meet the local manufacturers’ demand for more skilled personnel to maintain, troubleshoot and operate advanced automation equipment.
The Solution
Standardized automated manufacturing educational program on Rockwell Automation training curriculum, equipment and workstations. Created “maintainer certificate” recognition from Rockwell Automation to attract more students and help ensure they acquired skills most in demand by area manufacturers.
Results
A partnership between Rockwell Automation and Madison College was formalized in August 2013; first students who qualified for the recognition graduated in 2015. Students learn real-world skills to help them land jobs with local manufacturers, and/or advance their technical careers.
